Heronhaven Appaloosa Sport Horses
2009 Horses for Sale
News from the Appaloosa Sport horse industry...
Virginia Hood, my best and dearest friend, has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She has a limited amount of time and has advertised that all of her horses will absolutely have to be sold. She will accept decent offers from the right buyers. While I have several very nice fillies and mares for sale, I strongly encourage you, my friends, to look over her sales list and take advantage of the new foals currently on the ground and those to be born soon. I am anxious to see these horses in the correct hands. I also strongly urge you to form a syndicate to purchase Wap Spot, a naturally talented dressage sire with great potential.
My horses and I, in lieu of our economic problems in this country, will consider realistic offers and perhaps trades.
We have added a trade list at the bottom of this page...

Wap's Smooth Jazz
"Smoothie"
black and white filly - $8,500
(Wap's Pilatus HH x Wap 'N Jazz)
May 12, 2006
Elegant black and white filly, spots over hips and four white socks. "Smoothie" was 42" tall at birth and 17" to the middle of the knee. This filly shows refinement with potential for size. Beautiful, expressive head and eye. If you're especially looking for temperament, Smoothie is the most gentle and easygoing horse on the place. Very ladylike, polite and easy to handle.
She stands an honest 15:3 plus at 3 years of age and looks to go taller. Her black and white paint job is elegant and striking. Snap her up and have a gentle, competitive mare for many years. She looks to have 3 very good gaits. Rocking chair uphill canter and plenty of bone.
She will be started under saddle myself within the next few weeks.
Mare 2003

"Trinity"
Above - photos at 1 week, yearling, and 6 years
mare 16:2 + hh- $8500
(Wap Spot x Wap's Upon A Time)
May 23, 2003
Attractive bay mare by Wap Spot, with white and black spots over her hips. Big, rangy, cruiser of a mare with the looks and correct gaits to excel in the ring. Trinity stands 16:2 + hh as of October 2008. Good saddle position, and good drive from behind. Smooth, swinging, gaits with a ground covering trot and canter.
Going under saddle, but has been sitting this Spring.
Wap N Jazz will be available for Lease only, for perhaps 2 years. Proven producer of good foals.
mare 16:1 + hh - 1999 snowcap by Wap Spot 2 out of Te Frost

Sweet and kind, easy to handle. Look at that soft eye... Call/E-mail for details, references preferred.

...Trade List...
We need to update our dually farm truck. Old Faithful is showing his age and a newer one is in the future. Doesn't have to perfect, 5 mile an hour dents and dings are fine on a mechanically sound, rust free, reliable vehicle. Its going to be a farm truck, not a beauty queen! Prefer diesel 350 (dually) or heavy 3/4 ton single. Prefer 4 door. Automatic. Tell me what you have and we'll talk. Prefer low mileage regardless of age.
Good used dressage saddles for training youngsters M and M/W. Prefer Albion, medium twist or Rembrandt M/W or adjustable. I'm tiny - need a 16 or 16 1/2" seat. Kieffer also considered' Excellent condition preferred.
Looking for a bobcat or skid steer in good working order. Possible small tractor will be considered. Cosmetics not a problem...
Like to aquire another good sized roundpen suitable for starting 16hh to 17hh horses in. Takes a bit of room to turn those babies around in.
Portable stalls you might have stored out back somewhere...
sturdy four wheeler with a dump bed trailer
Hay trades a possibility for top quality - prefer as locally as possible. We have a flatbed and little trucks/ big trucks to get it if necessary.
My sons are both active competition drivers and performance mechanics. We collect vintage Toyota racing cars,(80's models) preferably the 1988 - 89 supercharged MR2's and 1986 AE86 corollas. Nice original condition - or - various stages of construction and/or parts cars considered. No rust (or minimal) preferred. We have a pretty decent group now but are always looking to add to it. 4AGZE engines(supercharged) will be of interest. Nissan 240's in very good condition, complete or roller. Mazda FD's considered complete or roller also. FD engine as stock as possible - (they are a little finicky about being messed with.)
Need a manual transmission/flywheel from a supercharged 1988 MR2. Not one from the front wheel drive Corolla. Linkages on the wrong side of the case to be practical. No NA transmissions...
